Wait, hold on a second...

The other day I was on the phone with someone and I asked what they were doing. That person told me they were on their computer setting up a blog. I reacted, "A blog?!" They said they wanted to let other people know about what was going on in their lives and they wanted to follow their friends as well. My mind spoke to me and said, "if you really want to stalk your friends it's made a heck of a lot easier with Facebook and Twitter. Why would you want a blog?" But then I remembered,"don't you have a blog, Christiann?" Hmmm, I do! The thing is I never set it up. According to the first person who posted their definition of a Blog on UrbanDictionay.com wrote this:
Short for weblog. A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as "homework sucks" and "I slept until noon today."

Mmmm, that's so deep and insightful, haha. But the thing is, I realized most of my friends have their blogs with the main purpose of sharing their lives with those they care for. They've made these blogs and invited me to read them to share their events, travels, and life changing adventures God has given them. I love reading about friends and their internships and travels. I love randomly hearing from a friend down ministring at a church in Florida or up in OH, or a friend working at a VBS in Mexico, or a friend teaching english to people in China or Kenya. Why am I writing this blog you ask? Well I really don't know. Like I said, I've had this for a while but never used it (the same with Twitter). But I like trying new things and I guess you could say that I'm doing something because everyone else is doing it and it's a "fad". "You're soooo original, Christiann" I know I know, but oh well I've already took the time to type this out and I'm not going to stop now. Most of those friends that have invited me to read their blogs are those who are on their ways to be in ministery/youth ministery, missions, and even other ministries. I guess I could use it to update people on my way to becoming part of the tv and film production industry. I could post some of my projects on here produced by DaSilva Productions. Oh the possibilities are infinite! oh geez... lol.

Lately I've been hanging out here in the good Southwestern town of Eagle Pass, TX where our city motto is "where the yee-ha! meets the olé!" Wow... that's a winner. Actually, I think that's what it used to be. I think the new motto our City Government is wanting to impose is, "The best way to Mexico" What the...?! I guess the federal government wanted them to switch it to that after the law suit our city got for denying the construction of the fence on this section of the border. Well, if you want to go to Mexico, come to Eagle Pass! "Where the border is guarded by Mexicans," that's my motto, then you can go to Piedras Negras, "home of the drug lords who own restaurants and the birthplace of Nachos!"

Soon I'll be headed back to Knoxville, TN where I'll begin my seventh semester at Johnson Bible College. I can't wait to get back to my friends, professors, and especially my brothersof the blue ridge, my football(soccer) teammates. This will probably be the last soccer season of my life! I know I'll join adult leagues later on in life where I'll play with a bunch of drunk 30 and 40 year old men who still think they're in their glory days, but these are the moments I will cherish for the rest of my life.

These years at Johnson have produced many friendships I will treasure for a lifetime. These aren't just any friends. These are the friends I know I can count on and I know that God has used them to influence my life and has used me as well to influence theirs. I have met so many great people with lives full of values I admire. There's so many different genres of people located at this valley surrounded by the great Appalachian mountains called JBC. I love these people, I can't ever make up my mind on who to hang out with when I'm there. I guess that's why I talk to everyone! I guess this is a step to closer to what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. Though this is great, we can't forget that life is more than that bubble we call JBC. It's great that we have a refuge such as Johnson, but the important thing is that we influence those whom Jesus came to save.

Well, thanks for reading my "meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary"
If you're a friend or a relative with a blog reading this, I'd like to read yours sometime but I think I'd rather like hearing it coming from your mouth and no through this liquid crystal diplay called a monitor.

This has been a blog post from your friendly neighborhood Brasexican,
Chris DaSilva
